Miranda and I made a trip to the Vatican and spent three hours in line to make it in. It was totally worth it though. I cant download any pics right now (dont worry, I will later), but there were plenty of old statues and tapestries to fill the day. A couple of my favorites were the fresco of the philosophers (okay, so I dont remember the name. Done by Raphael (otherwise known as the red turtle with an attitude problem), and depicts the great philosophers- Socrates (So-crates=)), Aristotle and such), and the fresco of the Final Judgement done by Michaelangelo in the Sistine Chapel. The Sistine Chapel. I was actually expecting it to be bigger, but the fresco on the wall was no disappointment.
While there were beautiful things to see and I really had a good time, I will tell you about my favorite time. Miranda and I were about to exit the Sistine Chapel when an idea struck us. There, surrounded by stockbrockers from LA and students from Taiwon, we prayed and worshipped God. We invited Gods presence into a place that was created for worship, but lately only used to display the gradeur of Man. The figures in the paintings seemed to stretch their muslces in gratitude as they joined with us. I have never seen such an expression of appreciation on the face of God before. It shone through the paint and brought new life to our surroundings. Beautiful. That is what I will remember about the Vatican.

Katrina-
How incredible is that!!!! I was once talking to God and the thing He told me is that He loved that I made a choice to make memories here with Him while I was on earth. You just did the same thing. You will always remember touching the heart of God while on your trip to Europse and that is something that is precious. I love it! Love it! Love it! I am so glad to hear that you are experiencing the excitement of being with Him while you are on this grand adventure.
Love you,
Joy
That's really, really cool, Katrina. I've been to the Sistine Chapel; I wonder, how long _has_ it been since someone did what you and Miranda did? I'll tell you one thing, it doesn't happen very often. Interesting that out of all the people who set foot in that place, He should be able to touch your hearts and inspire you both to respond to Him in that way. It is not only amazing that you were able to touch His heart, but that you bear an evidence that His grace truly is at work and in fact reigning in your lives. There were not two together in that place, but two and a Third.
